Homemade Sausage and Egg McMuffin Fakeaway Recipe

A fast-food breakfast classic, now homemade and better!


Ingredients

For the Sausage Patties:

  • 250g pork mince
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp sage
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

For the Muffins:

  • 2 English muffins, halved
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 slices of American cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

1. Make the Sausage Patties

  1. In a bowl, mix pork mince with salt, pepper, sage, and garlic powder.
  2. Shape into 2 flat patties the same size as the muffins.
  3. Cook in a frying pan over medium heat for 3–4 minutes per side until browned.

2. Cook the Eggs

  1. Lightly grease egg rings or a small metal cutter and place them in a pan over low heat.
  2. Crack an egg into each ring and cook until set (about 4–5 minutes).
  3. Optionally, flip for 30 seconds for a firmer egg.

3. Toast and Assemble

  1. Toast the English muffins until golden.
  2. Butter the bottom half, then place a cheese slice, sausage patty, and cooked egg on top.
  3. Cover with the top half of the muffin.

Serving Suggestions

  • Wrap in foil for a grab-and-go breakfast.
  • Serve with hash browns for a complete McMuffin meal!
