Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside—these homemade Chicken McNuggets taste just like the real deal!
Ingredients
For the Nuggets:
- 400g chicken breast, cut into chunks
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp plain flour
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
For the Breading:
- 100g plain flour
- 50g cornflour (for extra crispiness)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 100ml milk
For Frying:
- 500ml vegetable oil
Instructions
1. Make the Nugget Mixture
- Blend the chicken, egg, flour, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper in a food processor until smooth.
- Shape the mixture into small nuggets and place them on a tray. Freeze for 20 minutes to firm up.
2. Prepare the Coating
- In one bowl, mix the flour, cornflour, salt, paprika, and garlic powder.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg with milk.
3. Bread the Nuggets
- Dip each nugget in the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and back into the flour mixture for a thick, crispy coating.
4. Fry the Nuggets
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 175°C (350°F).
- Fry the nuggets in batches for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Drain on kitchen paper and serve with your favourite dipping sauce.
Serving Suggestions
- Serve with barbecue sauce, sweet and sour sauce, or ketchup for the full Fakeaway experience.
- Want it healthier? Bake in the oven at 200°C (400°F) for 20 minutes, flipping halfway.
